It's been two years Zac- you are gone, but not forgotten

There is no easy way around this statement - today is the 2nd anniversary of the passing of Zachary Schrah.

Can you imagine what Zachary would be doing today? Would he be deciding what school to attend, getting ready for Prom, sleeping late on Saturdays? - More than likely. We will never get to know all the wonderful crazy things and accomplishments that Zachary would do or accomplish because he left this earth way too early.

Imagine a typical day, a typical practice and feeling just fine, then you or your loved one just collapse. That is what happens when Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) strikes. There are no warning signals, no signs.

Living for Zachary was founded by Zachary's Mom, Karen Schrah to bring awareness of SCA (Sudden Cardiac Arrest), purchase and place automated external defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the community and encourage heart screening for our youth. Karen wanted to do something for Zachary so no one or no family should ever go through what their family has had to endure, therefore creating the "Living for Zachary Organization". What a great way to allow Zachary to live on forever, not just in the lives of those who have known and loved him, but those that get screened because of him and the knowledge Living for Zachary has brought us.

In the video below you will see some pictures of Zachary - a life cut short. The Living for Zachary Organization pleads that every parent take the steps to have your child's heart screened - just so you know. Zachary would encourage you to do this as well.

Enjoy the memories of Zachary in this video that was presented at the 1st Annual Living for Zachary HeartBeats Gala. It was a beautiful night to remember and celebrate Zachary's life and a night that Zachary would have been proud of.

The family at Living for Zachary would like to thank all that have been such a huge part of making this wonderful organization come to light. Thank you for all the friends, family and supporters that continue to help spread the word of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and aid in raising awareness of this horrible condition . Zachary is loved and missed by those that knew him and even those that didn't and lives on in all of our hearts.

"Things turn out best for those who make the best of the way things turn out."
